As we start 2015, it gives me the chance to review the last 12 months but more importantly look forward to what is in store at the Community Centre in the coming months.
During 2014, the Tuesday film club has gone from strength to strength, showing the classical Hollywood musicals on the second Tuesday of each month. This event will continue in 2015 and if there is a big enough demand, I hope to show 2 films per month. If you have a favourite film from the golden era of Hollywood that you would like to see on the big screen at Christ Church Community Centre, please let me know and I will do my best to bring your dreams to the silver screen!
The Good News coffee mornings have proved to be very popular, with an excellent range of speakers arranged by June Fogg. There is a full programme of events planned for 2015, so come along and enjoy and a cup of coffee and an entertaining speaker, on the first Tuesday of each month.
The Knit and Natter group put on an excellent display to commemorate the 1st World War in November along with an afternoon tea. So, if you fancy doing some knitting and nattering, or just some nattering over a cup of tea, Jill Wright would be delighted to see on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday afternoon of the month at the Community Centre.
There are plenty of other events happening at the Community Centre, so either drop in and see me for the full details or look on the Community Centre website www.christchurchcommunitycentre.org.uk.
As always I am on the lookout for different events to hold at the Community Centre, so please contact me if you have any ideas you may have.
Wishing you a happy 2015
John Potter Community Centre Manager
