Children’s Activities

Toddler Group (1 year to pre-school) – Monday morning 9.45 am – 11.15 am

Catering for children from 12 months to preschool age, offering table top activities, larger toys, simple crafts and a chance to share time at songs and rhymes. Term time only. This group is not running at the moment.

Baby Group – Monday morning 11.30 – 12.30

Catering for babies from birth to 1 year old and their carers, but also welcoming pregnant mothers. The group provides a friendly and safe environment for babies to play with age appropriate toys and offers the parents the opportunity to form friendships. Term time only. This group is not running at the moment.

Vibe Stage Academy – Tuesday and Thursday afternoons/evenings

2^nd Bebington Rainbows – Monday evening 16.30 – 17.30

Fun games and activities for girls 5-7 years old. Develops self-confidence and builds friendships.

Leisure Activities

Tai Chi – Friday 10.30 till 11.30. Suitable for all ages and abilities.

Sit Fit – Monday 17.45-18.45 and Thursday 13.30 -14.30. Chair based exercise for strengthening and toning. All welcome. Beginning 17th May. Contact Heather on 07925 076914 for more information.

Women’s Institute – 1st Thursday, 13.30 p.m. Excellent speakers, varied topics, social afternoons. Relax with lots of humour! Resumes on June 3rd.

Dru Yoga – Thursday evenings 20.00 – 21.00

Indoor Bowls – 2nd and 4th Friday 12.00-14.00 in the winter. Play bowls without getting wet. No experience necessary. Refreshments (usually home made cakes!) provided.

Weight Watchers – Classes at 8.15am and 9.30am. Led by a trained WW Coach, weekly workshops include a 1-1 wellness check-in, online tools including the WW app and barcode scanner, and support from WW members who are just just like you. No need to book, just drop in.https://www.weightwatchers.com

Community Activities

Connect Coffee Shop @ Christ Church – Wednesday 9.15 – 11.45

Christ Church Community Centre will be open every Wednesday for drinks and toast.

Play area of toddlers, safe place for babies and expectant mums, tables for adults to meet together or just sit, stop and unwind with a paper.

Carers Lunch – 3rd Tuesday each month 12.00 – 14.00

Information, support and advice for anybody looking after someone at home. Previous carers also welcome. Sandwich lunch provided. The next meeting is on 16th April, when Glen Parry will be speaking on ‘Birkenhead Now and Then.’ The group do not meet in August.

Knit and Natter – 1^st and 3^rd Wednesday afternoon of each month 13.00 – 15.00

It’s a great way to make new friends, work on you own knitting projects or gain ideas and learn from others or just to chat!

Ladies in Stitches – a sewing group for stitchers – 1st and 4th Tuesday morning of the month, 10.30 till 12.30

This group makes all sorts of lovely things for good causes. Materials, equipment and refreshments provided. Returns on 1st June.

Befrienders lunch – 1^st Thursday of each month 12.30 – 14.00

An informal get-together for anyone recently bereaved. There are trained listeners in the group who can offer one-to-one support if needed.You would be made very welcome. Just come along on the day or contactparish office. The group does not meet in August.

Oasis Mental Health Support Group– 2^nd & 4th Wednesday of each month

This is an informal group which meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon. The meetings are held in the Kings Hall, Christ Church Community Centre during Connect Cafe. This is a support group for people with mental health issues. Christ Church Mothers Union 2^nd Thursday evenings 19.45 – 22.00

A varied programme of serious and light hearted meetings and outings.

Men in Sheds – meets Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10.00-13.00

A friendly group who make things for charitable causes. The men recently made some lovely planters for the front of the Church, which the Boulder planted up. A great co-operative venture! Now open and welcoming anyone interested in joining.

Tools with a mission

We collect donated tools, refurbish them, sort them into trade kits and send them across the world for livelihood creation.

The Happy Reading Group!

Exchange views about poems, short stories and books, whilst drinking coffee and tea, and eating biscuits. Literature provided. Meets regularly on the 3rd Monday from 19th May from 2.15pm till 3.45pm.

Singing Cafe – every 1st and 3rd Tuesday in the month from 10.30 – 12.00

An opportunity to listen or join in with songs from the 50s and 60s led by local musicians.

Welsh Cafe – every 2nd Tuesday in the month 10.30 – 12.00

Speak Welsh, learn Welsh and enjoy Welsh specialties. Diolch gweld chi yno!

Sewing Group – every 1st and 4th Tuesday in the month 10.30 – 12.00

An opportunity to work on your own sewing projects or join with others on new projects while enjoying their company.

Lunch Club – every 4th Friday from 12.00

A two course hot meal, followed by tea & coffee. £6 to be payed at point of booking, limited places. All are welcome. Contact Parish Office on 608 4429 to secure place
